Adventures in the Morning: Need A Monday Morning Laugh

Goats make me laugh.
(I know, I'm weird.)
They are just so funny, and have you ever seen those fainting goats? That fall over when they get startled...
Well, I learned the other day from a YouTube video that some goats make noises that sound just like human yells/screams. Don't believe me, watch this video (if you can't see it, you may have to click over to the blog page).

OK, seriously funny right?!
Now, some smarty pants with to much time on their hands started adding those goat noises into songs like

There are more, but these 2 were my favorite.
Happy Monday!

Adventures in the Morning: Getting dressed

There are lots of different ways to be inspired on Pinterest.
So many different categories.
I have a board for ideas for our basement,
one for recipes to try,
one for hallway stencil ideas
one of crafts for kids
one for DIY ideas...
I think my favorite board is "My Style" board.
Some days I feel like this...

I love to pin new outfit ideas and try to piece together something similar using what I have,
OR getting ideas of items to be looking for to add to my closet.
Here are a few of my favorites from My Style board!

Can you tell I like stripes, jeans, flats, and grey!
Happy Tuesday!

Adventures in the Morning: GF Breakfast Sandwich

We love breakfast food.
So when we decided to cut gluten out of our diet,
breakfast became a completely different game.
Think about it:
muffins, waffles, pancake
all made with flour.
Pop-tarts, Cheerios, cinnamon rolls
yep, all have gluten in them.
So we have changed the way we do breakfast.
Some days we do still have cereal, Chex has some great GF options.
We eat a lot of oatmeal, and eggs.
It is now just as easy for me to whip up GF muffins or waffles
as it was to make the 'regular' ones.
The other day we had some sandwich rolls that needed to be eaten up.
So we made GF Breakfast Sandwiches.
Bacon, egg, and cheese on a GF bun. Yum!

What is your favorite breakfast food?

Adventures in the Morning: Lists

I love lists.

I love making lists.

I love crossing things off my lists.

I love looking at a list with everything crossed off and completed.

Sometimes, if I do something that is not on my list, I will add it....just so I can cross it off :)

What is on your to-do list today?

Adventures in the Morning: Coffee

So, I have to be honest, I LOVE coffee. I cant quite remember when I started to love coffee so much...I do remember the very first time I had coffee though. I was young, like 9 or 10 years old, and my family was visiting my Grandparents. One of my most favorite places in the whole world was my Grandparent's farm. My brother and I, along with various cousins would play outside for hours, inside for days, exploring, pretending, playing dress up in Grandma and Grandpa's old clothes. It was the best.

However, when we were little, every afternoon there was always nap time. And when the little kids went down for their naps, the adults got to play...cards! They would play hand and foot and drink coffee while the kids napped. This particular visit, I was old enough not to have to take a nap and old enough to play hand and foot. (You have to understand how exciting this was for me!!!) As the cards were being dealt and the cups of coffee were being poured, I remember asking if I could have a cup of coffee too. I was told (probably by my mom, hi mom!) that if I was going to have coffee, I couldn't put any sugar in it, I had to drink it black.

OK, pause for a second. You know how flavored coffee smells amazing, but does not really taste like it smells, right?!? Well, picture 9 year old me smelling the wonderful smell of french vanilla flavored coffee and then taking a sip...blah, yuck!

I remember thinking it tasted horrible, but I want to be like the other grown ups, so I drank that whole cup of coffee. And I did it with a smile, because that was the grown up thing to do (can you tell that I am stubborn!). Anyway, after that day, I am sure it was a loooooong time before I had coffee again. It must have been college when I started drinking it on a daily basis in the morning, and even in the dead hot steamy middle of summer, I still love to sip on a good cup of coffee in the morning. Decaf or regular, it is a part of my morning, usually sitting next to my journal and Bible.

Currently my favorites are:

and

and when I can get my hands on it, I love a cup of LaSalle Street Coffee
