Adventures in Firsts: Sunrise Snow

One of my favorite sights is the sunrise.
(and I like that in the winter I don't have to be awake very early to see it!)

I wish I could say that I was sipping my coffee and reading my Bible as this beautiful sight above was painted in the sky outside our living room window....

But I cant.

I was actually loading some dishes into the dishwasher while waiting for my hair straightener to warm up so I could finish getting ready for work, when I caught a glimpse out of the corner of my eye.

The beauty of the fresh dusting of snow (the first of the new year! yay! If it's going to be 5 degrees, we might as well get some snow to cover up all the frozen, brown grass...) and the first light of the new day, the bright pinks, purples, and oranges of the sunrise were just magnificent.

And I couldn't help but stop, watch, and praise God for creating such a wonderful work of art on this freezing cold January morning. To thank Him for giving me an opportunity to spend a few quite moments with Him, enjoying the His beauty.

**Sorry for the screen lines all across the picture...but there was no way I was going outside to take this picture!

  1. I love sunrises and sunsets. Somehow pictures do not do it justice.

  2. I LOVE that about winter too. The sunrises are actually at a normal time to be awake for me. Good way to look at the silver lining of it being dark when we get out of bed :)

I'm excited to follow your blog!

  6. Gorgeous photo....sunrises and sunsets are both so beautiful....I'm just a little bit jealous of that snow too, doesn't snow here in Australia that much, I'd love to wake up to that even if it was just for one day!
