Adventures in Media: Sound Track of My Life

Theme of the week:

10 songs that are a "sound track to your life"
Mom2MemphisandRuby
Wow! So many songs, it is hard to pick just 10. To avoid a rediculouly long post filled with videos and lyrics, I am just going to give you a few lines of the song and a link to the YouTube video (if one is available). Just click on the title of the song to get to the tunes if you don't recognize it from the title or words. Or maybe it will be a new to you song! Here we go!

1) Blake Shelton "God Gave Me You"

God gave me you for the ups and downs
God gave me you for the days of doubt
For when I think I’ve lost my way
There are no words here left to say, it’s true
God gave me you

I did a post about this song earlier in the spring.
You can read ALL the lyrics {HERE}

3) Thompson Square "I Got You"
A car's got gasoline to run, down the road
A crop's got rain, dirt and sun, to make 'em grow
A song's got rhyme, a clock's got time
You got me and baby
I got you
Yea you're it, the missing piece that makes me fit
I got you, the breath I breathe, and there ain't nothing else I need
Baby I got you,

4) Ellie Holcomb "I'm Grateful For Your Love"
Love is an ocean
Hope is a promise
Light is overtaking
Grace is overwhelming

5) Chris Cagle "What A Beautiful Day"
Day one, I stumbled through hello on 5th Ave
Day two, we grabbed a bite to eat
And talked all afternoon
Caught a movie on day fourteen
And day sixty-seven she said "I love you" to me
Oh, what a feelin'
What a wonderful emotion
Yeah, what a life
Counting my blessings and knowin'
Ooh, we had our ups and downs
All along the way
She had a chance to leave
But chose to stay
What a beautiful day

6) Kari Jobe "Everyone Needs A Little"
Come all ye weary and ye broken
Come to the table of the Lord
Come sing the song of the forgiven
Come lay your burden on the Word
Come and find
Peace everyone needs a little
Rest everyone needs a little
Joy and a song to sing in the darkest night
Life even when it gets you down
Hope will turn it all around
But love is the greatest of these
Everyone needs a little

7) Hillsong "Lead Me To The Cross"
Savior I come
Quiet my soul remember
Redemptions hill
Where Your blood was spilled
For my ransom
Everything I once held dear
I count it all as lost
Lead me to the cross
Where Your love poured out
Bring me to my knees
Lord I lay me down
Rid me of myself
I belong to You
Lead me, lead me to the cross

8) Dave Barnes "On a Night Like This"
On a night like this I could fall in love
I could fall in love with you
In the dark so dense, we talk so soft
The way young lovers do

9) Hillsong "Mighty To Save"
Everyone needs compassion
A love that's never failing
Let mercy fall on me
Everyone needs forgiveness
The kindness of a savior
The hope of nations
Savior, He can move the mountains
My God is mighty to save

10) Martina McBride "I Just Call You Mine"
I pinch myself sometimes to make sure I'm not in a dream
That's how it seems
I close my eyes and breathe in the sweetest moments I've ever known
It feels like home
And here I am I want to be your everything
There you are
Turning winter into spring
And everyone that sees you
Always want's to know you
And everyone that knows you
Always has a smile
You're standing ovation after years of waiting
For a chance to finally shine
Everyone calls you amazing
Yeah, I just call you mine
(This last song is extra special because it was our first dance at our wedding)

What song would be in the sound track for your life?
