Adventures in Life: Birchbox #1

Every day for about a week,
as soon as I get home from work,
I run to see if the mail has been delivered yet.
I have been
waiting
for
this...
Eeeek!
I can't remember where I first heard about
but I tried signing up right away...and had to be put on the waiting list.
Pause: You may be wondering why I am so excited about a little pink box.
And you may have never heard of
Basically it is a monthly subscription of sample size beauty products for $10 a month.
Ok, un-pause!
Then in early March, I got the e-mail saying I could registerand get a Birchbox of my very own!
Check out what I got:
Let's take a closer look...
Jouer Luminizing Moisture Tint - The formula has light-diffusing minerals, which give skin a soft glow and also smooth over any fine lines. Antioxidants like ginseng and gingko biloba leaf extract help improve skin, and SPF 20 wards off UVA and UVB rays.
AHAVA Essential Day Moisturizer - This light cream derives its superhero powers from AHAVA’s signature Osmoter, a blend of Dead Sea minerals that defend skin against environmental aggressors. Amino acids and vitamin E improve your skin’s ability to retain moisture, while aloe vera is a natural skin-soother that helps heal irritation.
Orofluido Elixir (for your hair) - Quick-absorbing and lightweight, this oil works on damp or dry strands. It made my hair feel smooth, but did not weigh it down. It also works great on flyaways and smells amazing!
Tea Forté skin-smart Teas - Not only do these fruity green teas taste amazing, they contain mega-high levels of antioxidants to repair your skin from the inside out. Each flavor addresses a specific concern, from fighting oxidative stress (a major source of wrinkles) to restoring skin’s youthful glow. Certified organic and fair trade. Even though it was almost 80 degrees today, I turned on the hot water kettle and brewed up some tea. It was very refreshing, and I am excited to try the other flavors.
Color Club Neon Nail Polish - Not really my color. I might see if a high school girl from church would like it. It looks like good polish though. (see my cup of tea next to my thumb in the background!)
I didn't get a picture of the perfume. It was Annick Goutal Eau d'Hadrien and smelled ok, but I am not a huge fragrance person. I get a head ache after a while of smelling strong smells like perfume.
So, not only do I enjoy trying new products...I also like tiny sized products.
I don't know why.
I just have always liked tiny things.
Tiny replicas of big things are my favorite. Like at the Museum of Science and Industry there is a model train that starts at one end of the room in tiny Seattle and travels across the tiny Northern Pass in the tiny Rockies, and then charges across the tiny Great Plains. The train rolls through the tiny Chicago suburbs and ends up in tiny replica of downtown Chicago...That doesn't make much sense unless you have seen it. But I could walk along next to that tiny train for hours, watching all of the amazingly detailed tiny replicas it passes.
ANYWAY, I am excited to use all my new tiny products!
And I cant wait to see what is in next month's box!
Hope you have a fantastic weekend!
