Adventures in Photography: Christmas Tree Photo Link Party

When I was a little girl, I can remember asking my mom if I could sleep under the Christmas tree. I know, I'm a little weird, but I just loved looking at the colors and ornaments, so sparkly and special. To this day, I still love sitting and looking at Christmas trees, which is why I decided to do a Christmas Tree Photo Link Party!
(I honestly thought I had come up with a brand new idea for a link party, but over the past 2 weeks I have seen several other bloggers have the same kind of link party...I guess there really are no now ideas!)
Even though our house is a bit of a disaster because of Operation: Finish Basement and all the dust, dirt and tools that go along with a project like that, I still put up a few Christmas decorations.
Including our cute little tree!
It's just a short little tree (artificial for now).
Filled with ornaments that are special for us. This little stocking was made by my Great-Grandma's sister, Ione. It was given to me years ago with a little note from my Granny that I keep in the ornament box.
 I posted about this pretty little heart last week. You can read about it {HERE}
My mom gives ornaments every year and this is the one we got 3 years ago when we were married.
Isn't it cute!
This little guy has been a long time favorite. It was a toy from a happy meal. Yep. A happy meal. I believe the date on the tag is 1989, and up until very recently it still played a little tune when you squeezed it. I remember as a kid being so excited to unpack my Oliver the Cat every year to see if it still played!
You may have noticed that we do not have anything at the top of our tree. I have been looking for the just right tree topper, but have not found one that I love, or has special meaning...so for now the top is empty. Maybe this year I will find one!

Now it's your turn! Do you have a real or artificial tree? Does it have a theme? What do you use to top your tree? I can't wait to see! Link up your post below.
Merry Christmas!

  1. I love ornaments that hold special meaning! I love you keep the letter from your grandma... down the road, when YOUR grandchildren read that, it'll be amazing to still have :)

Cant wait to see everyone's tree... thanks for the link up party! :)

  2. Love your tree and ornaments, so pretty. I couldn't decide on a topper for awhile either and several suggested a bow. I bought the ribbon and my sister made a big bow for me and I really love it.

Thanks for doing this photo party. Looking forward to seeing everyone's trees.

  3. I love all the stories that ornaments have! I could read a whole post series on just that! Such a lovely tree.

  4. Love your tree and ornaments. The bride and groom one is so cute. We also have several little plush ones from movies that most likely came from a happy meal! It can be hard to find the perfect tree topper. I have two new trees this year, you can't plug into them at the top but I did find a woven wooden star ornament that worked perfectly on one of my trees. Merry Christmas and thanks for hosting this party.

  6. Love your tree!! I think those special, treasured ornaments are the best! I still have some from high school! The little handmade stocking is just adorable. It's so great to have these things with special stories to share and pass down. We have a married ornament, too, and it's definitely one of my favorites. Your Oliver the Cat is too cute :) Thanks so much for this fun link-up!! Have a blessed day and a very Merry Christmas!
