Adventures in the Kitchen: Why Didn't I Think of That?!

Just a quick little tip from the kitchen for today!
When slicing strawberries for crepes,
you want them nice and thin...
like this
Try using your hard-boiled egg slicer!
(My hubby thought of this! Isn't he so smart!)

Taa-daa! He said you sometimes have to use the next strawberry to push the first one all the way out, but for these ripe berries that we picked up at our local farmer's market, this little trick worked great!
So quick and easy.
Why didn't I ever think of that?!
Do you have any tips like this for any of your kitchen gadgets?

  4. That's a great tip! I've done the same with bananas too, just cut sections and pop them in the egg slicer. Thanks for stopping by my little blog and leaving the sweet comment. I'm off to peruse your blog now. Take care :)

  7. Sooo just like 2 weeks ago I threw away our egg slicer because we NEVER used it. We hadn't used it in YEARS so I just got rid of it. Dang it.

  8. Ugh! Where was your dear hubs when I was slicing strawberries for my tablescape last week LOL! He is a genius! My egg slicer isn't big enough to really slice eggs and I was going to throw it out! I will be keeping it now just for strawberries! I'd love it if you shared this at my party going on now at

  12. That is great! Too bad I don't have an egg slicer. Doesn't it frustrate you when your husband comes up with a no-brainer in the kitchen? :)

  20. I love this idea, but when I tried it, it broke two of the wires on our egg cutter. Which brand do you use because I am still a huge fan!
