Do you ever pre-order a book on-line and then forget about it? And THEN get a surprise in the mail one day when the book finally comes?! This is what happened to me this week, and I literally squealed when I saw this book in my mail slot! I have been waiting for months with this book. Have you heard of Sarah Sunind? If you like historical fiction, specifically WWII historical fiction, then you need to pick up one of her books for a great summer read!
This is the book that came this week
On Distant Shores is apart of a series called Wings of the Nightingale. Each book follows the life of a different woman serving in WWII as a flight nurse. On Distant Shores is about Lt. Georgiana Taylor and her life, love, faith, and adventures in the skies over Sicily. I LOVE WWII novels, and Sarah Sundin is so good at the details, I sometimes forget the book is fiction, and not just the autobiography of a real flight nurse!
I just got the book on Tuesday, and already can't put it down! SO GOOD! What are you reading this summer?
That looks great. I've been wanting a good book for a long time!
ReplyDeleteI just finished "Unglued" - it was great. I also just finished "Eleanor & Park" ... I loved it...
