Adventures in Life: Misc. Monday

Happy Monday, Everyone!
Just a quick, random post on this sunny President's Day...
miscellany monday at lowercase letters

(1) You all should head over to Through Clouded Glass to read {THIS} post on love.
Thanks Callie for the beautiful reminder and for joining the love link party!

(2) This weekend I was working on my audition project for Season 15 of
but I can't show you anything that I was crafting - it's a secrete!
If you have never heard of So You Think You're Crafty, here is how Missy, the lady behind the blog, describes it...
SYTYC is a head-to-head crafting competition. Every 10 weeks a new group of crafters is selected. Each week the crafters are given a theme and YOU vote for your favorite using the poll in the sidebar. The winner makes a free tutorial and the loser gets ‘sent home.’

(3) I have a new found respect for people who work 2nd shift or overnight. Daniel did a plumbing job at a fancy restaurant in the city this weekend. A job that could only be done at night, after the restaurant had closed for the night. So he would leave at about 10 p.m. and get home in the wee hours of the morning. Not fun, but we are so very thankful for his job!

(4) OK, No Spoilers People!
But I just have to get this off my chest...Downton Abbey.
HOW COULD THEY DO THAT!?
(If you are a DA fan, you NEED to watch this episode...)
And how long to we have to wait until the next season!?
And what is with the random lengths of the episodes. 1 hr, 2hrs, 1.5hrs...
I never know how much of an episode is left.
I am fascinated with the actors who play these rolls!
I love watching interview with them. So interesting!
This lady was on 60 minutes last night...

And I've said it before and will say it again, Maggie Smith is my favorite!
I am sitting on the edge of my seat, waiting for her next remark.

Well, that's it for this miscellaneous Monday post.
Have a wonderful day!

  3. Thanks for your comment on my blog :)
Love your randomness. I am SO far behind on DA. Thanks for no spoilers :) I watched the first couple episodes of this season but have so little alone TV time that I haven't watched since :(
Good luck with your craft! I LOVE SYTYCD so to apply that format to crafting wins my approval!

  4. Isn't Maggie Smith just priceless as the Dowager Countess?
I believe that character's part was written specifically for her!

I LOVE all of her sophisticated yet sharp "zingers" and "one-liners"!!

However....I just don't know if my heart can withstand anymore sudden deaths of our beloved main characters....sigh.........

  5. I have worked both 2nd and 3rd shift (and a few other weird shifts...) and it certainly can be rough. You figure out ways to make it work with your marriage. Its not easy, but do-able.

  6. Oh, I can't believe the next season of Downton Abby is not until next Jan. 5th. My goodness, that is forever away and I'll forget the story line before then. And, why in the world did it have to end as it did last night. How awful! You are right, you never know how long it is going to be on. You are right! Maggie Smith is the best and I saw her on 60 Minutes last night as well. Happy week!

  7. I know these days we all have to be thankful for jobs, but I also know those night shifts are not fun at all!!! My husband worked two separate night jobs. I am extremely thankful to God for providing for us with these jobs, but at the same time I pray he doesn't have to do that ever again!! Thanks for stopping by my blog today!!!

  8. We are still on Season Two of Downton, but I am going to have to have a marathon or something because I keep catching glimpses of spoilers. What a show! Love it. My husband is watching with me and he is stretch-out-the-good-stuff-and-make-it last kind of person. I am more drown in it if it is good kind of girl. Frustrating!

  9. The past 2 years is the first time in a long time that my hubby has worked normal hours. Which is quite funny considering he is a Army recruiter and their hours are usually not normal. It's definitely a nice change of pace from the regular craziness. Though yes, very thankful for any hours. :)

    xoxo,
    Melissa
