Adventures in Photography: Christmas Tree Photo Link Party

Today I am breaking a personal rule.
A rule that I am a STICKLER about.
Just ask my husband,
or any of my college room mates.
Today (and only today!) I am talking about CHRISTMAS!
As a personal rule, I reserve any and all Christmas music, movies, decorations, cookies, and anything else Christmas related, until AFTER Thanksgiving. It makes me sad that people and stores just skip right over Thanksgiving. I like to enjoy the season of being thankful for all of blessings in my life and give the turkey it's day in the spotlight before everyone gets swept up in the season of shopping and wrapping gifts!
(Stepping off soap box now...)

ANYWAY...
remember when we practiced our photography skills this fall for the
FALL PHOTO LINK PARTY?

Well, I thought it would be fun (and a new photography challenge) to take pictures of our Christmas trees!
Do you decorate your tree with a color theme?
Do you use ribbon or tinsel?
What kind of tree topper do you have?
I love seeing how people decorate their trees and would like to show off our little tree! So on December 19th, I will host a link party here for you to come and link up your post containing pictures and descriptions of your Christmas tree! Maybe you have a special ornament on your tree that you would like to photograph and share a story about. Or maybe you just want to snap a pic of your tree with no words at all. It is up to you!
What do you think?
More details to come, AFTER THANKSGIVING but for now here is a button that you could use to spread the word, if you would like! The more, the merrier!

Question of the Day: Do you wait until after Thanksgiving to bust out the Christmas music and decorations, or have you already started? There is a radio station in our area that started playing Christmas music on November 1st....Daniel tries to switch the radio to that station when we are in the car together, but I quickly switch it back! No sir, not me. I wait until after Thanksgiving for all things Christmas. (Except for today with this post!)

  2. We wait and because thanksgiving is so early this year, we will be doing it the last week of November, rather than the friday after Thanksgiving. :-)

  3. This is awesome!

Our Christmas tree is up already. I went ahead and did it I'm 33 weeks pregnant and have NO idea how I'm going to feel day to day. Plus I always take our tree down the day after christmas (would totally do it christmas night if my husband would let me).

  5. Thanks for visiting my blog =)The Brick is a Canadian furniture store and I'm looking into whether or not I can get a refund.

What a great link up! I moved into my first apartment in August and I'm not sure if I'll be putting up a tree...my apartment's small and I won't be spending any of the holidays here.

I personally don't have anything to do with Christmas until after Remembrance Day (Nov 11). Canadians celebrate Thanksgiving in October and after Remembrance Day, our next holiday is Christmas. But I think Remembrance Day needs to be celebrated and honoured...same way you feel about Thanksgiving.

Hope you had a great weekend!

  7. This is something I am definitely interested in joining. I love Christmas and since we do not really celebrate Thanksgiving in Trinidad I am swimming in the Christmas season. :)
I am following you from the hop and would love for you to follow back.

  8. Found you through Tell me about it Tuesday. We have the same name!!

If we had our tree up, that would be breaking a serious rule for me too. My birthday is on the 6th so growing up we never did any Christmas decorating till after that. This year I'm finding myself wanting to put things up sooner! it's so strange.
