Adventures in Blogging: Hodgepodge Vol. 102

1. Turkey-love it or leave it? White meat or dark? What's your favorite thing to make using leftover turkey? I love turkey. Prefer white meat. Annnnnnd I love making sandwiches with the left over rolls and turkey!.

2. Gotta burn off all those carbs the day after a holiday feast so which would you rather do-run a 10K or climb a mountain? I pretty much hate running, so I would go with climb a mountain.

3. Do you feel like social networking has made your relationships better or worse? Explain.

Worse. I have totally gotten lazy with keeping up with my real friends.

4. How do you find and express gratitude for the hard things in your life?

I try to find at least one thing that I am thankful for in a hard situation, or I think of all the blessings that I have in my life and then the hard situation doesn't seem so bad. I know that God has a plan, and He is working all things to together for His glory, so even when I don't understand, I know that He does!

5. In the US, the day after Thanksgiving has been dubbed 'Black Friday'. Is most of your holiday shopping done live and in person, or is it done more through the magic of the Internet? How do you feel about stores opening at midnight Thanksgiving night? Will you be out amongst the masses on Friday? I HATE Black Friday. Who wants to get out of bed in the middle of the night to stand in the freezing cold and take the chance of getting trampled just to save a few dollars? (That's just my opinion - sorry if you love Black Friday!) I am not a fan of crowds, or waiting in line. Last year we did about 90% of our Christmas shopping on line, and plan on doing the same this year. Plus most stores offer free shipping this time of year so you can shop around and get the best price on what you are wanting.

6. Speaking of the color black-which black item in your wardrobe would you say is your favorite? My favorite black item....hmmmm. It would have to be my black button up cardigan with 3/4 length sleeves. I got it on a Christmas shopping trip with my Grandma Seger and I wear it all the time. I've had it for years and will be so sad when it wears out someday.

7. What do you appreciate about your life today? I appreciate all the hard workers and helpers we had help us on our basement project!

After 6 months of digging we got our new floor poured yesterday and we could not have done it without the help of lots of friends and family!

  2. Nice job on the basement. We can't have basements around here because, well, we're nearly at sea level. I guess we could have a pool in the basement. LOL I lived in the upstate growing up and we had a basement. There was a furnace down there that sounded just like a monster! :) Happy Thanksgiving!
