Adventures in Encouragement

So, I have had an idea that has been stewing in my brain for quite some time. It started when I participated in a few different "stuff" exchanges this spring and summer like the home made gift exchange, home made card exchange, and mug exchange.
Raise your hand if you LOVE getting real mail?!
Not just junk or bills (I don't know about you, but that is MOST of our mail).
I loved sending and getting packages in the mail, but what I loved most of all about these exchanges was getting to 'meet' and make a new friend!
One morning, when I was reading my Bible, I read a familiar passage and had (what I think is) a great idea! Here is the passage

"Finally, brothers and sisters, rejoice! Strive for full restoration, encourage one another, be of one mind, live in peace. And the God of love and peace will be with you."
2 Corinthians 13:11

Are you ready for my idea?!
Rather than exchange mugs or gifts
(while these items are fun, do we really need more stuff?)
 why not exchange some
good, old fashioned
Encouragement
in the form of a real card or letter!
Will you join me?!

Here's how it will work:
Step 1: E-mail me (veronicalynnhill@gmail.com) or leave a comment below with your e-mail address to let me know you would like to be involved in the Adventures in Encouragement exchange.
Step 2: I will match you up with another blogger who also contacted me, send you her contact information, and you can being to get to know her via her blog or e-emails and start thinking of ways you could encourage her where she is at in her life in your card or letter that you will be writing and sending to her. (The great part about this is the only cost is postage for a letter - and if you want to purchase a card. You could make a card, or just write a note on some pretty paper. It is totally up to you.)
Step 2 1/2: (OPTIONAL) To help spread the word, if you would like to do a post about the Adventures in Encouragement exchange on your blog, you are going to get a bonus letter in the mail from ME! (I LOVE sending letters and making cards, so I am pretty excited about this!) Just grab a button and let me know the date of your post so I can check it out and then get working on your letter!
Step 3: After getting to know your partner, before September 28th, mail your letter or card of encouragement to your partner and watch the mail box for your encouragement letter!

In addition, I am going to be posting throughout the month of September about the topic of encouragement as I study, meditate on, and memorize 2 Cor. 13:11.
**Stay tuned for details about an Adventures in Encouragement link party later in September where you can link up your blog post about encouragement. Ideas could be a time you felt encouraged, how you encourage others, thoughts on 2 Corinthians 13:11, the partner you got paired up with, etc. (like I said, more detail to come!)

So, is anyone up for joining my Adventure in Encouragement?!
"Finally, brothers and sisters, rejoice! Strive for full restoration, encourage one another, be of one mind, live in peace. And the God of love and peace will be with you."
2 Corinthians 13:11

* You have until September 20th to let me know if you would like to be involved in this adventure. I will be matching people up as they respond, so you will not have to wait until the 20th to find our who you will be encouraging.
