On the first Sunday of every month our church has a pot luck.
My favorite dish to bring is...
Saucy Meatballs
The recipe makes 35-40 medium size meatballs
Meatballs
3 lbs hamburger
1 - 12 oz can evaporated milk
2 c. gluten free oats
2 eggs beaten
1/2 c. diced onion
1/2 tsp garlic powder
2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
2 tsp chili powder
Sauce
2 c. ketchup
1 1/2 c brown sugar
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
2 T Molasses
Combine all meatball ingredients and mix well. Form into balls, larger than a golf ball but smaller than a tennis ball...Because this recipe makes so many meatballs, I cook a few and then freeze the rest for easy future dinners. Place meatballs in a greased baking dish.
Combine all the sauce ingredients and pour over meatballs. *If you are not making all of the meatballs, you will want to cut the sauce recipe in half.
Cover with foil and bake 50 min at 350 degrees. Uncover and bake additional 10 min for a total of 1 hour baking time. *If your meatballs are smaller or larger you may need to adjust cooking time. When I am making the whole batch to take to a pot luck I transfer the cooked meatballs into a crock pot to keep them warm.
They go well with garlic mashed potatoes or rice.
Enjoy!
